GAME 1
  • Both pitching staffs dominated in the opening game with Marian falling in a 10-inning affair.
  • A double from sophomore Gus Walker opened the scoring for the game in the top of the first inning.
  • This would be all Marian could manage, however, as SVC would tie the game in the third and walkoff the Sabres with a two-out single in the 10th.
  • Marian had a runner in scoring position in the fifth, sixth, eighth, and ninth inning but couldn't find the clutch hit.

GAME 2
  • Marian was able to once again get out to a fast start scoring in the first inning when graduate student Jonah Landowski launched a two-run homer.
  • The Bearcats scored a pair of runs in the third and fourth but Marin was able to rally in the next half inning.
  • A wild pitch put the Sabres behind just one before a sacrifice fly from sophomore James Bornick tied the game at 4-4.
  • Similarly to game one, SVC was able to get a two-out hit in the top of the seventh to retake the lead.
  • Marian had the tying run on third in the bottom of the seventh but couldn't bring it in.
