Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 KISSIMEE, Fla. - Marian University softball (4-0, 0-0 NACC) earned a 3-2 win over Illinois College and 10-5 victory over La Roche to open THE Spring Games.

   

• Pitching dominated to open the day as neither team was able to score through the first five innings.
• Illinois was able to score once in the sixth and once in the seventh to take a 2-0 lead going into the bottom of the seventh.
• Marian was able to rally in their last chance, however, scoring three times to earn a walk off win.  All of the Marian runs were scored with two outs.
• Junior Katelyn Matenaer opened the rally with a run-producing single before senior Emalee Depa tied the game in the next at bat.
• Freshman Ariana Schliepp ended the game with a single that scored Matenaer for the walk off.

• A full box score for the second game of the day against La Roche was not available at the time of this press release.

       

Junior Katelyn Matenaer was 2-for-4 scoring the game-winning run and driving in the first Sabre run.	Senior Emalee Depa went 5.2 innings allowing just one run with nine strikeouts in the start.	Freshman Morgan Mack (1-0) earned the victory in the circle in her first collegiate appearance.
