Richard Leads Marian Baseball to Split at CUW

MEQUON, Wis. - Marian University baseball (14-15, 7-9 NACC) defeated CUW 5-2 before falling to the Falcons 11-0 in seven innings.

GAME 1
  • Marian scored three runs before CUW even had a chance and it proved to be all the Sabres needed.
  • Junior Logan Rademan drove in a run to open the scoring before senior Brady Zackrison drove in another run with a double.
  • A two-out single from junior Albert Kiszka brought in the final run.
  • CUW cut the lead down to one with a run in the second and the third.
  • Junior Caleb Dohms then padded the lead in the third bringing in a run with a single.
  • Sophomore Gus Walker followed with a run-producing single of his own to put the Sabres ahead 5-2.
  • From there it was all pitching as neither team was able to plate a run leading to the Sabre win.
GAME 2
  • The Falcons jumped out early on Marian scoring a run in the first frame and the third.
  • CUW then broke the game open with six in the fourth and three in the fifth.
  • The Marian offense had a tough time in game two managing just three hits.

Sophomore Riley Richard (2-1) tossed a complete game in the opener allowing one earned run wiht six strikeouts.
Junior Logan Rademann had four hits in game one finishing the day 5-for-8 with two runs scored and one driven in.
Sophomore Gus Walker went 3-for-4 with a run scored and a run driven in for game one.  He also had a hit in game two.
