MILWAUKEE - Marian University men's lacrosse has had three student-athletes earn All-NACC recognition.
Senior
Tanner Chester (Libertyville, Ill.) anchored the Marian defense all season long to be named All-NACC Second Team. Chester set a single-season record on the defensive end with 47 caused turnovers. His 2.94 caused turnovers per game average led the NACC and ranked 17th in the nation. Chester tied the single-game record for caused turnovers with seven against Mount St. Joseph and Benedictine in the final game of the regular season. He had multiple caused turnovers in all but five games this season and recorded 61 ground balls on the year. Chester had six games with at least five ground balls with a season-high of seven coming at Spalding and at home against Benedictine.
Senior
Erik Horman (Appleton, Wis.) earns the second All-NACC Second Team award of his career after dominating in his return to attack. Horman led the NACC averaging 5.88 points per game, eighth in the nation, and 3.56 goals per game, 24th in the country. His 17 man-up goals were also tops in the conference this year and put him second in the nation. Along with his scoring, Horman was sixth in the NACC this season with 4.50 ground balls per game. Horman set a single-season scoring records for points with 93, goals with 57, and assists with 37 this season. He had three games this season with double-digit points with a single-game record of 12 coming at Mount St. Joseph. Horman also set the single-game record for goals in the win over the Lions scoring nine times. Against Northland, he had a season-high 10 ground balls and had at least five ground balls in six games. He earned three NACC Offensive Player of the Week awards.
Sophomore
Serge Simard (Winnipeg, Man.) had strong offensive season in attack earning All-NACC Honorable Mention accolades. Simard ranked second on the team in most scoring categories recording 44 goals with 20 assists for 64 total points. He scored 10 of his goals with a man-up, which ranks second in the single-season Marian record books. Simard had seven games with at least five points and at least three goals in eight games. His top performance came at Concordia Chicago in the first gam of NACC play where he scored six goals with four assists for 10 points. He also had eight games with at least five ground balls this season.
