CLERMONT, Fla. - Marian University softball (3-1, 0-0 NACC) fell to Muskingum 6-1 before defeating Bluffton 11-7 at day two of THE Spring Games.

GAME 1 (MUSKINGUMÂ - L, 6-1)
- It was a pitching duel for most of the game as Muskingum held a 1-0 lead after four innings of play.
- The Fighting Muskies were able to add to its lead with a three-run fifth.
- Marian was finally able to strike when junior Kerena Wood hit a double with two outs to drive in a run and cut the Sabre deficit to 4-1.
- Muskingum would put the game away, however, with two more runs in the seventh.
GAME 2 (BLUFFTON - W, 11-7)
- Bluffton was able to jump out to a quick lead scoring three runs in the first and two more in the second.
- Marian was able to limit the deficit in the third when sophomore Ariana Schliepp drove in a run with a single.
- The Sabres would then score 10 runs over the final three innings to complete the come back.
- Marian was able to take advantage of an error in the fifth to plate two runs before junior Kendall Pliner tied the game at 5-5 in the sixth with a single that scored two more runs.
- The Sabres then had their biggest inning of the young season scoring six runs in the top of the seventh.
- Senior Katelyn Matenaer sparked the rally with a double that plated a pair of runs.
- The Beavers plated a pair of runs in the bottom half but Marian was able to hold on for the 11-7 win.
