WAUWATOSA, Wis. - Marian University men's basketball (11-1, 4-1 NACC) suffered its first loss of the season falling at No. 17 WLC 76-48.
- Marian opened with a slim 7-6 lead as the two squads felt each other out.
- The Warriors then went on an 18-4 run to lead 24-11 with 7:29 left in the first half.
- Marian rallied managing to cut its deficit to just four points with 57 seconds until halftime
- A strong finish fro WLC saw the Warriors score four unanswered to lead 34-26 at the break.
- The Sabres trailed 40-32 before WLC scored 18 unanswered points to lead 58-32 with 12:51 to play.
- The Warriors maintained a comfortable lead the rest of the way with the final settling at 76-48.
- Marian was 18-of-50 (.360) from the field and was limited to 3-of-21 (.143) from beyond the arc.
- Wisconsin Lutheran finished 26-of-52 (.500) and 7-of-18 (.389) on triples.
- The Warriors won the turnover battle 18-12 and outscored Marian 19-11 in points off turnovers.
- Marian falls to 34-41 all-time against WLC with the Warriors taking the last 11 meetings.
