Sabre Scratch - Week 11 Recap

With the extremely busy slate from last week we nearly forgot about the Sabre Scratch! We've still got all of the information you need from the latest happenings at Marian!

MEN'S BASKETBALL

Marian opened its season with a split at the NBC Tip-Off Classic.  The Sabres opened the event with a thrilling one-point win over UWS before a late rally against Central fell just short.  

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

The Sabres opened their season at home against Dubuque and one quarter proved to be the difference.  Senior Chelsea King had 16 points off the bench and sophomore Taycee Schwanke added 13 points.

WOMEN'S SOCCER

Awards season kicked off for Marian women's soccer with four All-Conference selections! Junior Emily Gordillo led the way with a First Team Pick, while senior Brianna Guelig earned a spot on the Second Team. Earning Honorable Mention recognition was senior Chelsea King and freshman Kendall Graves!

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL

Marian concluded its regular season with a pair of tough defeats falling to Concordia Wisconsin at home and Rockford on the road in five sets.  Senior Mikalah Mueller had a double-double with three aces against the Regents.

FIELD HOCKEY

The historic season for Marian both continued and came to an end as Marian hosted the CFHC Tournament.  Before the tournament kicked off, three Sabres earned All-Conference honors!  Freshman Charlotte Touw was named the Newcomer of the Year as well!  Marian opened the CFHC Tourney with its first postseason victory defeating CUW.  The season then came to a close falling to Rhodes in a 2-0 nail-biter.

NCAA MEN'S HOCKEY

It was a tough weekend at home for Marian as the Sabres were swept by No. 3/3 Adrian.  

WOMEN'S ICE HOCKEY

After an historic start to the season, the Sabres were swept by No. 9/9 Adrian but in a pair of tight games.

The Sabres dominated with a pair of convincing 10-1 victories over MSOE!

A pair of tight games went against the Sabres against Northwestern in a home series.

WOMEN'S BOWLING

It was an off weekend for Marian but the Sabres return with a split-squad weekend!

MEN'S BOWLING

Marian had a strong showing off of its off week finishing fourth at the Leatherneck Classic!  The Sabres were in second place after traditional action with 5,303 pins.  Marian had four student-athletes average more than 200 pins led by Jaysen Spanbauer who finished atop the individual leader board.
