JANESVILLE, Wis. - Marian University women's ice hockey (2-0-0, 0-0-0 NCHA) completed a sweep of Beloit with a 4-0 shutout.
- Marian wasted no time finding the scoreboard when senior Logan Crawford was able to score a short-handed goal 13:51 into the game.
- The 1-0 lead held all the way into the third period before Marian once again had a strong finish.
- Freshman Jillian Newouse scored her first goal of the year at 6:12 before fellow freshman Yazmine Gonzalez lit the lamp with 2:42 left to play.
- Junior Olivia Church-Sowinski closed out the scoring with a goal in the final minute.
- Marian finished with a 22-13 edge in shots and held Beloit to five or fewer shots in all three periods.
- Neither side had a power-play goal with each side having two looks.
- This was the first two games for Beloit in program history.
- Marian opens the season with two victories for the first time in program history.
