FOND DU LAC - Marian University women's ice hockey (5-6-0, 3-5-0 NCHA) was tied late but fell to Bethel 5-3 in its final game of the first half of the season.
- The Royals were able to get on the scoreboard first at the 6:42 mark but the Sabres responded with just 3:38 left in the opening period.
- Sophomore Summer Mullin lit the lamp for Marian to even the scoring.
- The stalemate lasted only 38 seconds before Bethel took a 2-1 lead that held into the first intermission.
- A second unassisted goal saw Marian even the score at 2-2 just 3:18 into the second period.
- This time it was sophomore Piper Miller who scored what proved to be the only goal for the period.
- The two sides traded power-play goals to open the third with Miller scoring the Marian goal with an assist from senior Rebecca Larson.
- The Royals were able to take the lead for good with just 5:15 left to play and netted an empty-net goal in the final minute to seal the final.
- Bethel had at least 12 shots in each period and finished the game with a 38-18 advantage.
- Face-offs also favored the Royals at a 31-22 clip.
- Marian was 1-for-4 (.250) on the power play while Bethel was 1-for-3 (.333).
- The Sabres are now 2-3-0 all-time against Bethel with the Royals taking the last three meetings.
- Marian finishes the first half with five victories, the most in program history.
