Strong finish falls short for Sabre women's basketball in close loss

FOND DU LAC - Marian University women's basketball (1-9, 0-3 NACC) outscored Lakeland 17-7 in the fourth quarter, but fell 60-52 in a competitive contest.

Sophomore Taycee Schwanke's fastbreak layup gave Marian its first points with 6:42 left in the first quarter.
Marian dug itself into an early hole, as Lakeland went on a 13-4 run to end the first quarter and take a 23-10 lead.
