ROCKFORD, Ill. - Marian University men's basketball (8-6, 5-3 NACC) held an 11-point halftime lead but was outscored by Rockford 45-23 in the second half, resulting in a 74-63 loss.
- The teams traded leads three times in the first five minutes, before senior Derek Lindert scored on three consecutive plays to give the Sabres a 12-8 lead.
- Marian held Rockford scoreless for over five minutes, yet was only able to extend its lead to eight.
- Senior Jazz Orozco made his presence known with five points and two steals across three offensive possessions, fueling a 9-0 Sabre run that gave Marian its largest lead of the night at 13 points.
- Sophomore Harper Krolak closed out the half with the last two Marian baskets, including a buzzer-beating jumper, giving the Sabres a 40-29 advantage at halftime.
- The Regents quickly erased their first-half deficit with a 13-0 run to tie the game at 42-42.
