Ava Kreger scored a go-ahead layup with eight seconds remaining as Marian University women's basketball (3-20, 3-13 NACC) rallied from six points down in the final three minutes to shock Concordia Chicago, 73-72.

- Marian opened the game quickly as senior Chelsea King knocked down a three just eight seconds in.Â
- After opening with a 7-2 lead, the Cougars went on a 16-2 run, pushing Marian into a nine-point hole.Â
- The Sabres closed the gap, using a 10-2 spurt to end the quarter just one point behind, 20-19.
- King sparked the Sabres' offense with eight straight points, including back-to-back threes, after the team went scoreless for more than five minutes.Â
- Marian led by as much as three, but four consecutive three-pointers from CUC to close the half gave the Cougars a 42-33 lead at the break.Â
- The Cougars extended their lead to double digits, topping out at 15 points midway through the third quarter.
- A strong 10-of-12 (.833) quarter from the free-throw line kept Marian within seven entering the fourth quarter.Â
- The teams traded baskets, but six different Sabres scored to cut the deficit to one.Â
- With under three minutes to go, freshman Holly Goodwin hit a layup to trim the deficit to four.Â
- One minute later, a three-pointer by freshman Jon'Niyah Akins made it 72-71 with 1:20 left.Â
- After multiple stops, freshman Ava Kreger scored the go-ahead layup to give Marian its first lead of the second half.
- A CUC turnover with no time left sealed the comeback, giving Marian its second conference win.

- After the Cougars shot 17-of-37 (.459) in the first half, Marian held them to 8-of-28 (.285) shooting in the second half.
- After trailing by nine at halftime, Marian outscored CUC 40-30 in the second half.Â
- Eastham recorded six assists, marking her third game with at least six assists this season.Â
- The Sabres hit a season-high nine three-pointers, led by King with five.Â
- The Cougars were led by sophomore Grace King, who notched a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman Sophia Pedraza finished with seven steals.
- The Sabres and Cougars met for the 29th time, with Concordia Chicago leading the all-time series, 19-10.
- The final score of 73-72Â marked the smallest margin of victory in series history.Â
