Marian women's bowling earns third straight GLBC Championship

GREEN BAY, Wis. - Marian University women's bowling earned its third straight GLBC Championship and went on to earn the GLBC Tournament Championship as well.

  • Marian dominated the final GLBC meet of the season finishing with 7,683 pins with second place being just 7,100.
  • The Sabres had three games with at least 900 pins in traditional play including a 1,059 in the opening match.
  • The Sabres finished with a 191.1 average for traditional play, or 4,777 total pins.
  • Marian then averaged 181.6 in Baker play finishing with 2,906 pins. 
  • The Sabres had four Baker games with at least 200 pins.
  • Marian concluded the regular season with a 30-6 record to clinch a third straight conference championship.
  • Bracket play saw Marian dominate as the Sabres didn't drop a single game on their way to a conference tournament championship.
  • The Sabres would defeat UW-Whitewater 179-145 and 189-139 before defeating UW-Eau Claire 191-130, 161-143, and 182-159 in the championship match.

Sakinah Thomas was named Second Team All-GLBC with a 169.9 average for the season.
Delanie Vogt averaged 203.4 to finish atop the individual leaderboard for the final meet.
Elana Rimer was an All-Tournament selection with an average of 192.6.
