- There wasn't much offense to start the game as the two squads nearly skated to a scoreless start through the first two periods.
- Marian was able to end the scoreless stalemate with 2:29 left in the first period.
- Junior Catherine Yasenak lit the lamp, with assists to fellow juniors Jessica Tadevich and Ella Spies, for the lone goal heading into the third period.
- Senior Logan Crawford padded the Sabre lead 5:46 into the final period with help from sophomore Zowie Hunter and junior Piper Miller.
- The scoring was closed out by senior Jennarae Bateman who scored at the 10:48 mark with help from Spies and senior Rebecca Larson.

- Marian held a 26-20 advantage for shots in the game with a 10-5 edge coming in the third period.
- Trine held a 30-23 edge in draws.
- The Marian power-play unit didn't hit the ice, while the penalty kill held the Thunder scoreless on three chances.
