Marian men's volleyball earns convincing sweep of Rockford

ROCKFORD, Ill. - Marian University men's volleyball (6-14, 2-6 NACC) defeated Rockford 25-17, 25-16, 25-16 for their first road win of the season.

Marian had a 13-11 lead in the opening set before pulling away with a 6-2 run.
The Sabres and Regents traded points with Marian taking four of the final five to finish off the set.
The two sides started the second at a 4-4 stalemate before 11 straight points gave Marian a comfortable lead.
Marian built its lead to as large as 13 before the final settled at 25-16.
The third set had a nearly identical start with the two sides knotted at 4-4.
Marian then went on an 11-3 run to lead by eight.
With an 18-12 lead, Marina scored five straight points to help put the match away.

This was the first road win of the season for Marian.
The Sabres had a 45-20 edge for kills and 42-32 advantage for digs.
Marian hit .300 or better in two sets and had at least 13 kills in all three sets.
The Sabres had five service aces and didn't allow an ace in the win.
Marian is 7-1 all-time against Rockford with wins in the last six matches.

	EighT different Sabres recorded at least four kills in the win.
	Freshman Ryan Jarrett had 17 assists to go with three service aces and six digs.
	Senior Trent Goo Sun had six kills, two service aces, and a team-high seven digs.
