LISLE, Ill. - The Marian track and field team competed in the Benedictine University Twilight Invitational on Friday, April 24 and gave their strongest performance of the year, while competing against more than 20 teams.
"All of our runners had great races today. They fought hard through the wind and the rain to put up countless season bests," Head coach Dan Allen said. "It's now time to shift gears and rest up as we get ready for conference."
Sydney Cihak took first place in section two of the women's 100-meter dash as she ran a time of 14:59.
Kaitlyn Zorn also took part in section two and finished sixth as she clocked in at 15.66.
Kristin Skubic had two top five finishes on the day. The senior took third place in section two of the women's 1500-meter run with a time of 5:07.21 and fifth place in section three of the women's 400-meter dash with a time of 1:04.31.
Justin Cook finished third in section three of the men's 400-meter with a time of 54.17, while Cole McCaig took part in section two and finished fifth with a time of 57.49.
Andrew LeRoy came in 18th in section one of the men's 800-meter as he ran a time of 2:42.36.
The Sabres look to finish the season strong as they compete at the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference meet hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran on Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2.
