STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The Marian men's and women's track and field teams opened their season at the -Wisconsin-Stevens Point Invitational.
On the women's side Alyssa Zuhlke and Kayla Gregar finished first and second in the one-mile run. Zuhlke crossed the finish line in 6:14.80 and Gregar was right behind her at 6:24.54.
On the men's side Ben Franzke finished second in high jump with a height of 6-feet ¾ inches.
In the one-mile run a trio of Sabres placed in the top 15. Jacob Leiden raced 5:10.56 to finish 12th, Desmond Mettlach crossed the finish line in 5:16.59 to place 13th and Isaac Kinjerski placed 14th with a time of 5:32.90.
In the 800-meter run Mettlach finished fifth with a time of 2:26.09 and Kinjerski placed sixth with a time of 2:36.71.
