MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- The Marian Sabres track and field team had two runners participate in the second day of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Championships on Saturday, May 2 after the majority of the team took part in day one on Friday, May 1.
"I am so proud of what our team accomplished this weekend after all of the hard work they have put in," Head coach Dan Allen said.
Kristin Skubic represented the women for Marian and had a stellar performance in her final events as a Sabre. The senior brought home fourth place finishes in the women's 800-meter run with a time of 2:28.41 and in the women's 1500-meter run with a time of 5:06.13.
"Kristin provided the team with our only 10 points of the tournament with her two fourth place finishes," Allen said. "She battled hard in both races and narrowly missed All-Conference."
Skubic also took part in the women's 5000-meter run. Her time of 2:06.04 was good for a 14th place finish.
Justin Cooke represented the men's side for the Sabres in the final day of the championship. The freshman took part in the men's 1500-meter run and delivered an 18th place finish with a time of 4:40.02.
The Sabres will look to continue their success next season in the second year under the guidance of Allen.
