FOND DU LAC - Marian University men's lacrosse (7-3, 3-2 MLC) played tight with Aurora but a late push from the Spartans lifted Aurora to a 14-7 win.

The Spartans started fast with the first three goals of the game but Marian bounced back with goals from sophomores Jeremy Eisele and Nick Klotz that were just 58 seconds apart.  The Spartans added a goal in the final minute to put the score at 4-2 heading into the first break.

Aurora once again opened the scoring in the second quarter with Marian closing out the quarter with three of the final four goals.  Freshman Finn Maloney scored with an assist to Klotz before sophomore Connor Houlihan scored a man-down goal and freshman Colt Robertson each found the back of the net.  The three Marian goals put the halftime tally at 7-5 in favor of Aurora.

The second half proved to be tough for Marian as Aurora would score seven second-half goals, three of which were with a man-advantage.  A Klotz goal highlighted the third period while a man-up goal from Robertson, assist to freshman Tyren Boots, was the lone Marian goal for the fourth quarter.

Klotz paced the offense with three points, while Robertson finished with a multi-goal game.  Freshman Vincent Mercadante had a team-high five ground balls after going 10-6 in the face-off circle.  Sophomores Garrett Houlihan and Austin Finley each caused a pair of turnovers.

Freshman Johnny Estrada made 20 saves on 33 shots in goal for the Sabres with 14 of his saves coming in the second half.

Marian remains at home to take on North Central (Minn.) Wednesday, April 10 at 4 p.m. from Smith Field.
