Box Score FOND DU LAC - Marian University women's lacrosse (0-3) played just their second home game of the season falling Benedictine by a final score of 18-5.
The Eagles jumped out early on the Sabres scoring the first five goals of the game. The Sabres bounced back scoring three of the next five goals, two off free-position shots, to bring the score to 7-3. Benedictine had a strong finish to the opening half, however, and took a 10-3 advantage going into the break. The Eagles were able to continue their momentum into the second half outscoring the Sabres 8-2 and eventually setting the final at 18-5.
Freshman Ashtyn Stoor had 10 of the 12 Marian shots on the day and scored three goals to go with a pair of caused turnovers. Fellow freshman Nicole Stachon scored on her only shot of the day and also had a team-high four draw controls. In goal, freshman Grace Moll faced 32 shots on goal and turned away 14 of those shots.
Marian travels to Illinois Tech Saturday, April 10 for an 11 a.m. start.
