FOND DU LAC - Marian University women's volleyball (6-20, 3-6 NACC) fell in straight sets against CUW and No. 13 UW-Eau Claire.
The Sabres hung tight with NACC leading CUW in the opening sets but ultimately fell 25-22, 25-22, and 25-16. Marian led for most of the second set only to have the Falcons go on a 7-2 run to take the set. Junior
Kaitlyn Merrill led the offense recording a match-high nine kills, while junior
Reagan Jasica had 13 digs. Junior
Anna Tapia added four service aces.
In the second match of the day, UW-Eau Claire showed why they have been a powerhouse in the Division III volleyball world defeating Marian 25-13, 25-13, and 25-14. Sophomore
Riley Shores paced the Sabre offense recording seven kills, while Jasica once again led Marian with six digs. Junior
Serina Pehowski was able to record a pair of service aces.
Marian opens a three-match road trip at MSOE Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m.
