Late goal salvages tie for Marian men's soccer at CUC

RIVER FOREST, Ill. - Marian University men's soccer (6-5-2, 4-2-2 NACC) scored with just 14:15 left to tie Concordia Chicago 1-0.

The opening half was evenly played with Concordia Chicago scoring first at the 24:57 mark.  This 1-0 lead held into halftime where the Sabres were able to make adjustments and control the second half.

Marian was able to outshoot the Cougars 14-3 in the second stanza with none of the CUC shots being on goal.  The Sabres were able to find their equalizing goal at the 75:45 mark.  Junior Giuliano Corazzina was able to provide fellow junior Drew Cowden with a centering pass by the penalty dot and snuck a shot inside the right post.  The goal was his fifth of the season.

The Sabres finished with a 21-14 edge in shots but could only manage eight attempts on goal.  Corazzina and Cowden each had five shots to pace the Sabres.  Junior Aaron Perez (2-2-1) made four saves in the first half as the keeper of record.
