WAUKESHA, Wis. - Marian University women's lacrosse (0-1, 0-0 NACC) opened the season falling on the road at Carroll 21-2.

Sophomore Emilee Magill opened the scoring for the Sabres before freshman Izzy Newton scored her first goal at Marian.  Magill was able to score with out an assist, whiel sophomore Nicole Stachon earned a helper on the Newton score.  Magill also went on to elad the team with four ground balls, and Stachon had a pair of caused turnovers. 

Sophomore Kayla Kolpitcke and freshman Emma Heide each had a pair of draw controls.  Freshman Gwen Kosirog (0-1) faced 31 shots in the game making 10 saves.

Marian takes on Bethel (Ind.) Saturday, March 5 at noon in their first home game of the season.
