Box Score LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Marian University men's lacrosse (4-10, 2-4 NACC) found its stride late but fell to Lake Forest 12-10 in non-conference action.
The Foresters jumped all over the Sabres scoring the first six goals of the game. Freshman Cole Hales-Main was able to open the scoring for the Sabres but LFC still found itself ahead 9-1 with 10:57 left in the second quarter. The Sabres would score three unanswered goals, two with a man-advantage, to cut their halftime deficit down to 10-4.
Marian scored another three unanswered goals to open the third quarter. A man-up goal from senior Garrett Houlihan closed out the quarter and put Marian behind just 11-8. Goals from senior Jackson Allsop and Hales-Main opened the fourth quarter to Marian behind by just one goal, but the Sabres were unable to find the equalizer.
Hales-Main led the way in scoring for Marian with three goals, while senior Nick Klotz had a pair of scores and assists. Senior Casey Dare won 15-of-26 faceoffs and finished with a game-high 11 ground balls. Junior Richard Summers III (4-10) suffered the defeat making nine saves in goal.
Marian hosts Beloit in the final home game of the season Wednesday, April 27 at 7 p.m. in NACC action.
