FOND DU LAC - Marian University men's soccer (0-1-0, 0-0-0 NACC) held North Central (Ill.) scoreless in the first half but fell to the Cardinals 4-0.

Giuliano Corazzina had a pair of early chances in the first 14 minutes of action but one shot would be saved and the other trickled just wide. Cowden had an opportunity at the top of the box off of a free kick in the 39th minute but his attempt would be saved.
The Cardinals came out fast to open the second half with junior
Aden Jerome making four saves in the first 11:29 of action. His fourth save, however, led to a rebound goal for the Cardinals to open the scoring at the 56:31 mark. Then just 2:42 later NCC added to its lead with a second tally. North Central (Ill.) was able to close out the scoring with a goal in the 81st and 89th minute to put the final at 4-0.
The Sabres were outshot 35-5 in the defeat and were held to only one shot in the second half of action. Jerome (0-1-0) made several spectacular saves and finished with 12 saves in the defeat.
Marian travels to Pacific Lutheran for a 9 p.m. (CDT) non-conference game Saturday, September 3.
