FOND DU LAC - Senior
Dallas Kreisa and junior
Nicole Stachon of Marian University women's lacrosse have been named Academic All-District by the organization College Sports Communicators. Junior
Kayla Kolpitcke has also been honored as a dual-sport athlete with Sabre women's lacrosse and Marian women's ice hockey.
The Academic All-America program run by CSC is considered one of the most prestigious awards as it is one of the few awards that combines academics and athletics. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average at their current institution. The student-athlete must also be at least a sophomore and have been attending their current institution for a full calendar year.Â
Kreisa (Plymouth, Wis.) had a breakout season adding this honor to an All-NACC Second Team selection. Academically, Kreisa recently graduated with a degree in biology with a perfect 4.0 grade point average and was selected the Marian University Student of the Year. She finished the season sixth in the NACC with 48 goals and 63 points on the season. Kreisa paced the NACC this season with 77 ground balls and her 4.81 ground balls per game average was 19th in the nation. On the defensive end of the field, Kreisa was second on the squad and ranked fifth in the conference with 31 caused turnovers. Kreisa had five games this season with at least five goals and closed out the regular season with 15 goals over her final three games. In just two seasons, Kreisa finishes her career in the all-time record books fourth for points, third for goals, draw controls and assists, first in ground balls, and second for caused turnovers. She was also a member of the Marian women's soccer program.
Stachon (Kenosha, Wis.) continued to be a leader for the Sabre women's lacrosse program. She is currently studying psychology with a perfect 4.0 grade point average in the classroom. Stachon was fourth on the team this season with 37 total points and ranked third on the squad with 25 goals. Her 43 draw controls were second on the squad and her 3.38 ground balls per game average was good for sixth in the NACC. She had an especially strong end to the season recording 12 points over the final three games. Her season-high five-goal game against Beloit helped Marian clinch a spot in the NACC Tournament for the first time in program history. This past season saw Stachon become the all-time leader for games played and games started. She is also on pace to set the program record for points, goals, ground balls, and draw controls.
