MILWAUKEE - Junior
Kayla Kolpitcke of Marian University women's lacrosse has been named the NACC Defensive Player of the Week.
Kolpitcke (Powell, Wyo.) continued to anchor the Sabre defense leading Marian to a win over Beloit that clinched the Sabres a postseason berth for the first time in program history. She was the cause for two Beloit turnovers and scooped up 10 ground balls as the Sabres allowed just two goals to the Buccaneers. Kolpitcke ranks second in the NACC averaging 2.36 caused turnovers per game and is also second in the conference averaging 4.86 ground balls per game. She is only trailing fellow Sabre senior
Dallas Kreisa for the top spot in ground balls per game.
