Marian men's basketball ties program record for fewest points allowed at Northland

ASHLAND, Wis. - Marian University men's basketball (11-0, 4-0 NACC) tied a program record for fewest points allowed in a 76-37 win at Northland to finish the first half.

  • The Sabres came out hot scoring the first 12 points of the game.
  • Northland only trailed 19-9 with 11:26 left in the half before Marian finished the half on a 21-5 run.
  • This put the Sabres ahead 40-14 going into the break.
  • Similarly to the first half, Marian had a strong start to the second opening on a 16-2 spurt to lead 56-16 with 13:50 to play.
  • The Sabre lead grew to as large as 46 before the final settled at 76-37.

  • With the win, Marian now leads all of NCAA Division III with 11 wins on the season.
  • Marian finished 30-of-70 (.429) from the field and 8-of-27 (.296) on three-point attempts.
