Emma Johnson of Marian University women's lacrosse has been named the NACC Defensive Player of the Week.
Johnson (Fishers, Ind.) made 23 saves on the week and helped lead the Sabres to their first victory of the season. Johnson opened the week making 10 saves with four ground balls against Carroll. She then had the best game of her early career stopping 13 shots with a .650 save percentage in an 8-7 win over Elmhurst. Johnson held the Blue Jays scoreless on four free-position attempts and grabbed a ground ball.
