Emma Johnson has opened the season earning a NACC Defensive Player of the Week award.
Johnson (Fishers, Ind.) helped lead Marian to a 6-5 victory over Elmhurst in its first game of the season. She finished with nine saves on 14 shots and only allowed two goals through the first three quarters of action. Johnson posted a .642 save percentage in the win marking the second time in her career she had a save percentage above 60 percent in a single game, the other also coming against Elmhurst last season. This is the second NACC Defensive Player of the Week award for her career.
