FOND DU LAC - No. 11 Marian University ACHA Division II (20-6-1, 5-4-1 NCHL) will have the opportunity to defend its NCHL Hap Cup Championship after defeating No. 8 Concordia Wisconsin 4-2.
 

• The Sabres were able to open the scoring when Blake Stafford lit the lamp at the 11:21 mark of the opening period.
• This proved to be the lone score of the opening stanza as Marian went into the first break with a lead.
• The Falcons had an equalizer but Marian retook the lead with 5:29 left in the stanza.
• Cayden Frenette was the goal scorer for Marian with help from Logan Graf.
• CUW responded with 1:06 left in the period to send the game into the third knotted at 2-2.
• Marian was able to retake the lead when Anthony O'Neal scored off of a turnover to put Marian ahead 3-2.
• Frenette was able to put the game away scoring in the final minute with an assist to Devn Butler.

 

• CUW held a slim 36-32 advantage for shots in the game with the two teams combining for only 11 attempts in the first period.
• Marian had a pair of power-play goals, while the Falcons had one.
• The Sabres are now 2-1-0 against CUW this season and 20-5-0 all-time against the Falcons.
• Marian earns a spot in the NCHL Hap Cup Championship for the seventh time in program history holding a 5-1 record in the previous six championship games.
