Marian University men's bowling made the most of its first trip to the USBC ITC Championship reaching the national semifinals.

The Sabres earned a trip to the ITC National Championship for the first time in program history after finishing third at the ITC Sectionals.  Marian opened in second place after the first block with at least 200 pins in 10 games.  After dropping a couple spots in the second block, Marian bounced back moving up to third after the third block.  Marian had 200 pins or more in 13 of the 16 games in the third block.  Marian solidified its national tournament spot with its second-best block in the final round.

The national tournament saw Marian start slowly opening the event in 14th after the first block of qualifying.  The second block saw Marian move up to 12th and finish qualifying with a 180.7 average.  Marian dropped its opening match of bracket play to No. 5 St. Ambrose before making a run through the elimination bracket.  The Sabres opened with a 4-3 victory over No. 13 Purdue followed by a 4-2 win over No. 9 McKendree.  The cardiac cats then went the distance in the next two matches defeating No. 4 Wichita State and NO. 16 Southern Nazarene 4-3.  The pair of victories earned Marian a spot in the championship round of the tournament were a third straight best-of-seven match went against Marian when facing St. Ambrose once again.  The Fighting Bees went on to defeat Mount Mercy to win the national title.
