2025: Played in 35 games making 34 starts. Went 28-for-88 (.318) at the plate with 18 runs scored and five runs driven in. Had a pair of doubles and a triple. Walked 12 times and only struck out 13 times for an on-base percentage of .400. Had multiple hits in eight games including a 3-for-4 game in the second game against SNC. That three-hit performance capped a nine-game hitting streak that had six of her multi-hit games. Scored multiple runs in three games including a seven-run series against Alverno. Also stole six bases.
2024: Overcame a slow start to the season ranking fourth on the team with 44 hits, leading the squad with 34 runs scored and finishing with a .314 batting average. Matta also had another strong season on the base paths ranking 10th in the NACC with her 14 stolen bases while being only caught three times. During the regular season for the month of May, Matta hit 10-of-22 (.455) scoring nine runs with five runs driven in. She finished the season with 12 multi-hit games and went 7-of-17 (.412) at the NACC Tournament with three runs scored.
2023: Led off all season long for the Sabres earning NFCA Third Team All-Region Honors and an All-NACC First Team pick. She became just the fourth freshman in program history to be named All-Region and the first freshman to earn All-NACC First Team recognition since 2017. She was just one of 10 hitters during the regular season to record at least 50 hits in the NACC finishing the season sixth for the category with 55 base knocks. On the base paths, Matta ranked 10th in the conference with 0.89 runs per game and sixth for stolen bases with 16. Matta started in all 38 games and was held hitless in just eight games this season. She had 20 performances with multiple hits and at one point had a six-game multi-hit streak. She also had eight games this season where she scored multiple runs.Â
One of her top performances came in game two against Benedictine where she went 4-for-6 at the plate with two runs driven in and two more runs scored. She also went 3-for-5 with two runs scored against UW-Stevens Point in game two of a doubleheader and went 5-for-7 with six runs scored and a run driven in over the course of a doubleheader with Alverno. In the twin bill against St. Norbert, Matta went a combined 4-for-7 with three runs scored.
High School: Earned four varsity letters in softball at Chesterton High School. Earned an academic all-conference award and DAC All-Conference selection in her senior season. Helped lead the the Trojans to a sectional championship as a freshman.
