(Fond du Lac, WI) - Kim Kriese (Stevens Point, WI) became Marian's all-time leading scorer on Tuesday evening, as she scored a goal in the first period of Marian's 4-1 victory over Maranatha Baptist. With the goal, Kriese shattered Jenn Stolte's (1996-1999) 146 career points. Kriese now has 148 career points (63 goals/22 assists).
Marian (7-4, 6-2 NAC) fell behind at the 7:07 mark in the first period in this one as Elise Jones struck first for the Crusaders. From there it was all Sabres as they scored four goals in a span of 7:08.
Shayni Paul (Menasha, WI) scored her second goal of the year off an assist from
Taylor Hozeska (Hartford, WI) at the 7:22 mark.
Caitlin Stumpner (Berlin, WI) scored the eventual game-winner at the 11:00 mark. It was Stumpner's first goal of the season.
Kriese and
Jade Koeune (Winneconne, WI) scored the other two goals in the first for Marian. Hozeska was credited with another assist on Kriese's record-breaking goal.
Tiffany Erdman (Wausau, WI) and
Jordan Dykstra (Cedar Grove, WI) combined to stop four shots in the victory.
Marian out-shot the Crusaders (4-4, 3-4 NAC) 17-10 in the game.
Marian is back in action on Saturday, as they will play at Alverno College.
