WATERTOWN, Wis. - Marian University women's soccer (3-1-0, 0-0-0 NACC) scored three goals in each half as they easily defeated Maranatha Baptist 6-1.

The Sabres needed nearly 27 minutes to open the scoring but managed to put a three spot on the board in the next seven minutes.  Junior Reilly Louko took a centering pass from fellow junior Alexis Peterson for her third goal of the season to open the scoring.  A little under two minutes later it was freshman Shannon Coughlin who took a similar pass from junior Carley Schmit for her second of the season.  Sophomore Allyson VanZeeland closed out the scoring barrage in the 34th minute when Peterson earned her second assist in the game to put Marian ahead 3-0.

Maranatha Baptist opened the second half scoring with a goal 1:14 in but the Sabres would once again score three unanswered to end the scoring.  VanZeeland netted her second goal of the game in the 50th minute and she was assisted by Coughlin.  Coughlin then found the back of the net for her second goal of the game, fifth point, when she took a pass from Louko and buried it.  Sophomore Erika Priewe closed out the scoring in the 75th minute when she scored her first goal of the season, assist to junior Briana Pawlowski.

Marian finished with a 25-4 advantage in shots led by Coughlin who sent four shots towards the net, two on frame.  Junior Danielle Deltgen improved to 3-1-0 in goal for MU stopping three of the four shots she saw.  Sophomore Alyssa Jones spent 30:37 in goal for the Sabres and did not allow a score.

Marian stays on the road traveling to Beloit Saturday, Sept. 16 for a 2 p.m. kick off.
