Marian NCAA men's hockey takes point from No. 2/2 Aurora

FOND DU LAC - Marian University NCAA men's ice hockey  (3-11-2, 2-7-0 NCHA) rallied to force overtime but fell in the extra session to No. 2/2 Aurora with a final of 5-4.

  • The Sabres struck quickly with junior Nolan Flint scoring just 1:14 into the game, assists to senior Noah Pickart and junior Caden Carlson.
  • The Spartans responded just 2:48 later to even the score.
  • Freshman Daxton Lang gave Marian the lead back at the 11:20 mark with his first collegiate goal, assists to freshman Owen Norman and sophomore Robert Pizzey.
  • A power-play score with 3:59 left put the score at 2-2 to end a hectic opening stanza.
  • A quick start from Aurora in the second period saw the Spartans take a 4-2 lead 4:34 into the period.
  • The Marian rally began with 7:19 left in the second when freshman Andrew Seminara scored his first collegiate goal with help from junior Hayden Tuba.
