Five from Marian Women's Lacrosse Named All-NACC

MILWAUKEE - Five student-athletes from the Marian University women's lacrosse program have been named All-NACC.

Junior Dallas Kreisa (Plymouth, Wis.) had a breakout season leading the Sabres on both ends of the field to earn All-NACC Second Team recognition.  She finished the regular season sixth in the NACC with 45 goals and 59 total points on the season.  Kreisa paced the NACC this season with 74 total ground balls and her 4.93 ground balls per game average was good for 18th in the nation.  On the defensive end of the field, Kreisa was second on the squad and ranked fourth in the conference with 29 caused turnovers.  Kreisa had five games this season with at least five goals and closed out the regular season with 15 goals over her final three games.

Junior Marie Murphy (East Canton, Ohio) earns All-NACC Second Team honors for her work on the defensive end of the field for the Sabres.  Murphy ranked 12th in the NACC with her 43 ground balls.  She also had six games this year with multiple caused turnovers finishing the season with 15.  Murphy had an especially strong finish to the season grabbing 14 ground balls with five caused turnovers in the final three games of the season.  As a team, the Marian defense ranked second in the nation with 32.27 ground balls per game, 21st in the nation with 12.87 caused turnovers per game, and second in the NACC for scoring defense at 10.13 goals per game.

Sophomore Emma Heide (Kenosha, Wis.) earns her second all-conference award being named an All-NACC Second Team pick.  Heide ranked second on the team in scoring with 39 total points and her 17 assists were good for eighth in the NACC.  She ranked third on the squad with her 22 draw controls, while her seven free-position goals were second on the team.  Heide had four games this season with at least four points and five games with multiple assists.  Her top game came against Wartburg where she scored two goals with four assists to go with three ground balls.

Freshman Emma Church (Billings, Mont.) made an immediate impact for the Marian defense earning All-NACC Second Team recognition.  Church ranked sixth in the NACC with her 55 ground balls on the season and her 21 caused turnovers ranked 10th in the conference.  She had eight games recording at least four ground balls and five games with multiple caused turnovers.  Church had four ground balls, four assists and a draw control against Augustana (Ill.), while posting eight ground balls, three caused turnovers and a draw control against Edgewood.  As a team, the Marian defense ranked second in the nation with 32.27 ground balls per game, 21st in the nation with 12.87 caused turnovers per game, and second in the NACC for scoring defense at 10.13 goals per game.

Sophomore Izzy Newton (Oregon, Wis.) has been named All-NACC Honorable Mention for her second all-conference award in as many years.  Newton ranked third on the team with her 36 points scoring 34 goals, which ranked ninth in the NACC.  She was also fifth on the team with her 49 ground balls and .716 shot on goal percentage for the season.  Newton recorded multiple goals in all but three games this season posting a career-best six goals in the regular season finale against Beloit.  She earned the first NACC Offensive Player of the Week award in program history after scoring multiple goals in the season opener at Carthage.
