MEN'S SOCCER

The Sabres played their final game before NACC play opens suffering a 3-1 defeat to Carroll.  The Pioneers scored their first two goals in a timeframe of 1:04 and took that lead into halftime.  Marian battled back with a goal to open the second half and had several chances to tie the game.  The Pioneers were able to put the game away with a late goal, but it was a competitive battle.

WOMEN'S SOCCER

Marian faced its first week of adversity after falling to Lawrence by a goal and drawing with Carroll at home.  Senior Brianna Guelig scored in both games with her second-half goal against Carroll serving as the game-tying goal.  Fellow senior Chelsea King preserved the tie against Carroll not allowing a goal over 78:50 of action in a relief appearance.

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL

It was another weekend filled with tough opponents, but the Sabres were able to show growth.  Marian faced No. 2 UW-Whitewater, Carleton, and St. Catherine at the Sandy Schumacher Memorial Tournament, hosted by UW-Eau Claire.  The Sabres were able to force five sets against Carleton but were defeated, it was their second match this season that went five sets.

FIELD HOCKEY

It's the best start in program history for Marian field hockey after the Sabres hit the road and defeated Wittenberg 5-1!  Senior Jikke Biemans netted the fifth hat trick of her career in the victory, and sophomore Emilee Clarey made a pair of saves.  The Sabres are outscoring opponents 18-3 this season and haven't allowed multiple goals in a game.

WOMEN'S GOLF

Another week, another impressive showing for junior Yinan Lu! Lu opened the week earning medalist honors to close out the Marian Invite by three strokes.  Just two days later, Lu earned medalist honors for a second time after carding a three-over-par 74 at the Benedictine Fall Invite.  She then closed out the week posting a 76 and 78 to finish third at the Fighting Scot Invitational.  Jessy Merrell had the best week of her career as well and finished tied for fourth at the Fighting Scot Invitational, just one stroke behind Lu.

MEN'S GOLF

Marian had a pair of strong rounds to finish eighth at the WLC Fall Invitational.  Wyatt Pfeiffer continued his strong play of late going even-par and four-over to finish eighth and lead the Sabres.  Brett Ramme had a strong showing in the second round going four-over par.  Ramme and Ben Wilson, who competed as an individual, each finished in a tie for 36th.

WOMEN'S TENNIS

It was the home opener for Marian and the Sabres were able to come away victorious defeating Concordia Chicago 4-3!  Josephine Bruch was victorious at the No. 2 doubles flight and the No. 4 singles flight for a sweep on the day, while Jillian Traver had the decisive blow at the No. 2 singles spot.
