Hall of Fame
Brian Gillogly was the very first baseball coach at Marian and one of, if not, the most successful coaches the school has ever had. His career spanned 12 seasons where he compiled a sterling overall record of 337-185-2 with a Lake Michigan Conference mark of 154-16, good for a winning percentage of better than 90 percent.
He led the Sabres to six straight 30-win seasons and 11 straight 20-win campaigns, while collecting conference championships in 11 of his 12 seasons at the helm. He was named LMC Coach of the Year eight times. In 1995, he earned NAIA National Coach of the Year honors, while adding NAIA Midwest Region Coach of the Year in 1993, NAIA District 14 Coach of the Year in 1993 and 1994, as well as WBCA Coach of the Year accolades in 1990.
Beginning in 1990, the Sabres appeared in six straight district championships, winning three of those, including a 1993 win that led to a regional championship and NAIA World Series appearance. He coached nine LMC Players of the Year, 32 NAIA All-District honorees, eight NAIA Honorable Mention All-Americans, one MLB Amateur Draft pick (Brian Miller '95) and a fellow Marian Hall of Fame (Mike Schaible '94).
