Hall of Fame
Milford Parker was one of the top scorers for the Marian men's basketball program and was one of the inaugural members of the 1,000-point club. Parker was a Sabre from 1987-1991 and amassed 1,006 points in his career at Marian. He would help lead Marian to an 84-44 (.662) record during his time, 51-7 (.883) mark in conference games, making him one of the winningest student-athletes in program history. The best season for Parker came in the 1989-90 campaign where he scored 515 points. He enters the Hall of Fame as one of just five student-athletes in program history to score more than 500 points in a single season. Parker also had the ninth-most field goals made for a single season that year with 186, and the eighth-most free throws made for a single season at 107. This earned Parker LMC Player of the Year recognition along with a spot on the all-conference team.
"It is indeed a tremendous honor and privilege for me to be a part of the Marian University Hall of Fame," said Parker. "To have this induction bestowed upon me is truly a dream come true. I am forever grateful to my coaches and teammates who played a pivotal part in my individual success. Thank you Marian University for the athletic opportunity, but I am more appreciative of the education that was afforded to me. Marian University provided me with person growth, taught me about critical thinking, and I learned about how to adapt to my environment. These traits have made a tremendous impact on my success today."
