Dan Odegard was a three-time All-Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association selection, the 2002-03 MCHA Player of the Year, a four-time All-MCHA Academic recipient, and a three-year captain for the Marian men's hockey team from 1999-2003.

He finished his career ranked first in assists and third in goals scored and points. His team went 63-38-7 over his four-year career, including four MCHA tournament appearances, one regular season title, and back-to-back conference tournament titles in 2000-01 and 2001-02.

He captained the 2001-02 squad that put together a perfect regular season conference mark of 16-0 on the way to a second straight NCAA tournament appearance.
