Dave Chipman was an integral part of the development of the Marian NCAA men's hockey program and remains one of the top scorers in program history.

"Being inducted into the Marian Athletics Hall of Fame is a special honor for me and my family," said Chipman.  "I am so grateful for my time spent at Marian and for the wonderful people I met and became friends with.  I look back fondly on the countless hours spent at the rink with my coaches and teammates, and I am truly proud to have been part of the Marian hockey program."

Chipman scored 87 goals during his illustrious career sitting atop the all-time record books.  He also still holds three of the top-five best single seasons for goals scored.  Chipman remains the only Sabre to eclipse 150 career points sitting atop the all-time records with his 151 total points.  His 25 power-play goals, 13 game-winning goals, and 10 hat tricks are all program records for a career.

In the first season of MCHA play, Chipman helped lead Marian to a 16-9-1 record and 14-3-1 ledger in conference play.   Chipman was second on the squad for goals scored with 29 and points with 53 earning him Second Team All-MCHA recognition.  This set him up for his best season in a Sabre sweater in his final year.  The 1999-2000 campaign saw Chipman score 33 goals with 56 total points, both program records for a single season.  He recorded five hat tricks with 12 power-play goals, also program records for a single season.  Chipman went on to earn the first Player of the Year award in program history along with an MCHA First Team All-Conference honor.
